IP-Based Broadcast Production at NU-Q
Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q) is a recognized center for journalism, communication, and media production in the Middle East. Its state-of-the-art campus features advanced broadcast and production facilities comparable to those used by leading international networks. To support the continued development of its production infrastructure, NU-Q partnered with Plura to implement a fully IP-based production ecosystem. The project focuses on transitioning from traditional broadcast methods to a modern, scalable IP infrastructure capable of real-time, uncompressed UHD content transport. By leveraging Plura’s TRUE-IP 25GbE monitoring solutions supporting the SMPTE ST 2110 standard, NU-Q established a hybrid production environment suitable for both educational use and live broadcast operations.
